Bonded Expander
DeLuke Contoured Expander
These appliances are expanders for the upper and lower jaws that are temporarily bonded to the teeth. They are not removable. The purpose of these appliances is to help the upper and lower jaws grow to allow more space for the adult teeth to erupt. To expand the appliance, a small "key" is inserted in the hole in the middle of the expander. The key is turned based on the direction of the doctor.
The length of time the patient wears the appliance varies from patient to patient.
